When browsing the Enote library you will encounter both Print and Digital Editions. This article explains the differences between these two score types, and how to switch between them.

Digital Editions

As the name suggests, Digital Editions have been completely rebuilt in a digital format using our AI digitization process. These scores are still in the prototype stage, but are completely flexible and offer advanced features like customizable layouts, transposable content and automatic highlighting.

We see Digital Editions as the future of sheet music and will eventually offer all the music in Enote in this format. However, digitizing and quality-checking each score is labor intensive, so a full digital library is still some way off.

Print Editions

Print Editions are high-quality scans of the most reliable published editions of each work, enhanced with some of our smart AI features.

Our musicologists assess all available editions of each work to find the highest quality source material for our Digital Editions. Those chosen for our Digital Editions are also added to the library as Print Editions to put more reference material at your fingertips.

As Print Editions are static image files rather than native digital music, they cannot be reformatted or transposed like a Digital score. However, useful features like Quick Jumps, movement navigation, Score Lookup and Smart Annotations are available in these editions.

Changing Editions

You can switch between all the available editions of a score directly from the Score View. Tap the    icon to open the Available Editions menu, and select the version you would like to open:

When searching the Enote library you can also apply an Edition filter by tapping + Add Filter below the search bar to see works that are available just in Digital or Print Edition format, or both.
